Godzilla

Godzilla- a look into the atomic age. More precise, the results of years of atomic testing.

by David Williams

This is for all of those people that think that Godzilla is a big friendly dinosaur. This is a paper on the origin, structure, and the activities of Godzilla.

Godzilla appears to be a unique of immense size and incredible intelligence.

The origin of Godzilla is one of many questions. There are many theories on how Godzilla was introduced to this world, some being far fetched, and some being realistic.

Ancient god theory

The first theory that came to my attention was that the monster, known as Gojira, was an ancient Whale god to the people of Odo island, off the coast of Japan in the Pacific ocean. When several ships went missing, the Japanese harbor patrol sent a ship out to survey the waters to find any trace of the ships. Before sinking, all the ships gave the same message: “SOS, sea burst into flames, SOS” that was all the ships could give before the messengers died. It was assumed that the ships hit old WW2 mines that the Japanese Navy left for protection from invasion. There was a conflict involved with that statement, The Japanese Navy said that all mines were cleared just as the war ended. Another conflict arose, if the ships were sunk by mines, why did they not report a collision with a mine? The Japanese government held a gathering of all the top scientists and other important government officials to determine the next coarse of action. Dr. Yamane, a well known paleontologist, suggested that they question the natives of the island close by, Odo island.

When the researchers reached the island(by helicopter, to avoid the destruction that the ships sustained) and began to interview, the natives were frightened out of their wits. The researchers were frustrated and decided to rest that evening and witness an ancient ritual that asked for mercy from the god, Gojira. While one of the natives was explaining the ritual and when he said “Gojira” it came out as Godzilla. That particular native had drinken a little too much saki at the evening's dinner, thus the monster was dubbed “Godzilla” by the Japanese nations and eventually the world. It was determined that Godzilla was awakened by hydrogen-bomb tests in the pacific ocean. Unfortunately, many people were killed in this monster's visit to Tokyo, Japan. Godzilla was then destroyed by an oxygen destroyer, created by the late Dr. Sarezawa.

Gigantis theory

The second theory supports the first theory in the fact that Godzilla is a mutated creature, or disturbed god. Two years after the death of the first Godzilla, Another one was sighted on an island not to far from Tokyo, battling another monster. The monster that was battling Godzilla was known as Anguirus. The monster, known as Godzilla killed Anguirus and was later killed by the Japanese Air Force.

Godzillasaurus theory

The third theory is as follows. During WW2 a Japanese battalion was trapped on Logos island by American destroyers. When the American troops rushed the island, a giant dinosaur rushed out and scared the American troops. The American troops fled but not before they fatally injured the Godzillasaurus. The Japanese troops payed their respects and gratitude to the dinosaur that saved their lives. The Japanese troops left the creature to die on that island and to never tell of their story so as not to be dishonorably discharged for lying about a battle.

To their surprise, the dinosaur didn’t die. Instead the dinosaur began to regenerate the cells it lost during the battle, thus it is assumed that this dinosaur was able to survive the “global killer” that killed off all of the dinosaurs on the planet. While the Godzillasaurus was regenerating its cells, an atomic bomb struck the island as a test. Since the creature was able to survive the “global killer”, it was able to withstand the radiation that the bomb expelled. Many would assume that the shear blast of the bomb would kill the creature, but with this particular dinosaur, it was able to regenerate its cells quick enough to keep it on the edge of death.

The bomb’s radiation drastically changed the structure and composition of the Godzillasaurus. First of all, it increased its regeneration of, what are now called, G-cells. In result of its increased regeneration, it increased the size of its bones and even added new “plates” or “spines” on its back. The second major change its body went through was that its body created a new gland. Located just above what is thought to be its liver, is a gland that harnesses raw radioactive material and converts it into energy, such as a nuclear reactor. This gland enabled the newly created monster, Godzilla, to project Atomic rays from its mouth. This is Godzilla’s most devastating offensive weapon.

Structure

The structure and posture of Godzilla has varied over its lifetime.

Godzilla has always walked upright on its two hind legs, dragging its’ tail. It is assumed that Godzilla came from an earlier period of time, before the Jurassic period. This was determined because of Godzilla’s arms’ lengths. Yes, I didn't think this was a valid point until I noticed that the Alosaurus’ claws had three fingers. The later, Tyrannosaur, had shorter arms and only two fingers on each claw. So it is assumed that Godzilla is from at least a pre-Jurrasic period. It is also assumed that because of Godzilla’s immense weight, that it would use it's tail for balance and leave it stiff for leverage, but Godzilla is such a strange and unusual creature.

Another one of Godzilla’s unique features is its three rows of dorsal spines. They seem to serve many purposes, physical and supernatural. The first purpose that I noticed was that right before he uses his most powerful offensive weapon, Atomic Ray, his dorsal spines radiate a blue-ish glow, maybe this glow is a warning to other creatures, such as a rattle snake's rattler at the end of its tail. The other purpose I noticed, while it was swimming toward the Bering Sea, the spinal plates seemed to make its massive body more water dynamic. Thus resulting in the conclusion that Godzilla was probably an amphibious dinosaur.

Characteristics

The characteristics I'm going to be talking about are not so much as the physical features but the thoughts and emotional features.

I have noticed through the years, that there has been more than one Godzilla. This is a surprising, yet scarry, discovery. When the first infant Godzilla, Minilla, was discovered; Godzilla instantly bonded with it and took it as its child. It showed characteristics of a parent and that it loved its “adopted child” like it was its own.

I have also noticed that Godzilla exhibits other characteristics like a nuclear reactor. In which Godzilla needs raw nuclear material to keep itself going, like we humans need food for sustenance. When Godzilla absorbs the material, its’ spines on its back glow.

When, in 1985, Godzilla was abosorbing the nuclear material from a plant in Japan; a flock of birds flew overhead. This, apparently, distracted Godzilla long enough for Dr. Hayashida to take a moving X-ray of Godzilla’s brain. It appeared that Godzilla moved with the flock of birds because of a part of its brain that is birdl-like. So Godzilla is considered part bird.

As for the gender of Godzilla, which I did not mention during the body of the report, I have seen that Godzilla exhibits characteristics of both male and female genders. Since nobody can visually see whether it is a male or female, I have concluded this:

- Godzilla shows the compassion and adoration of baby Godzilla’s which it doesn't even know if it's theirs, indicating female. It also protects its adopted young as it’s own, as I have mentioned earlier.

- Godzilla also shows territorial domination; such as a male Jackal dominating its’ pack, which suggests male. As it is territorial, it feels that the ocean is it’s so it fights other monsters, not for the benefit of man, but to defend it’s territory from invaders.

Another interesting fact about Godzilla is that, in 1998, a Nuclear Scientist, Dr. Nick Totapolis, discovered that Godzilla could reproduce by itself. Godzilla could produce eggs by itself, so it is assumed that Godzilla is both male and female.

In closing, I conclude that Godzilla is a mutated version of an enormous animal that once roamed the earth millions of years ago. I believe that Godzilla/Godzillasaurus was an already unique creature whose abilities and structure was increased after the atomic blast that engulfed it on Lagos Island in the south-pacific.

These photos were brought to me by those brave photographers who risked life and limb to secure these top-secret photos of Godzilla. Thank you.

As you can see on a various few of thses photos, Godzilla is executing his most powerful of all weapons, his atomic fire ray. Some of the photos have other Kajus in them, such as Fire Rodan and King Ghidorah, as well as the mutant Space Godzilla. This goes to show you that there is no telling what may lye out there waiting to strike Earth. Our only hope for such events would be the continual protection of Godzilla.
