Halloween 2007 was an exciting time with a very unusual theme. This was the year of The Carnival of Lost Souls.
The name and idea came from the CD of the same name by the very talented group Nox Arcana.
As a boy, I was fascinated by a Freak Show at a carnival in Kansas City. I will never forget gazing in amazement at the posters of the human oddities who awaited astonished spectators. For the price of just one ticket, the curious could travel just beyond the tents to stare in wonder at the oddities of nature.
The Carnival Side Show has left an impression on me even to this day.
We decorated our department with carnival tents, lights, balloons and spider webs. We added an odd assortment of characters and made signs for each of our Carnival Freaks.
After much planning and decorating, Halloween finally came. We each dressed up as a character for our haunted carnival.
We passed out candy to the children and got a nice response from the local community.
