DARK XMAS NEWS...

(9-6-06)Dark Xmas 2006 has found it's location for the 2006 show before it moves to it's new and much larger hotel for 2007, the '06 show will be held at the Best Value Inn, 1051 North Canfield - Niles Rd., Austintown, OH 44515. The official website for Dark Xmas is www.darkx-mas.com, we have one if not the best guest list of any show around the area for this year.(6-6-06)The #1 Horror / Sci-Fi / Independent film convention in Ohio Dark Xmas will be finding a new location to better prepare for it's growing size. Attendance ran to slightly over 1,000 people in 2005 and a small hotel can no longer hold the show. If a location can not be found and we have to wait until 2007 expect the show to be at or close to twice the size, if need be it will be worth the wait. (10-25-05)We are pleased to announce that Tom Savini has just joined our guest list, he is one of the greatest if not the greatest special effect makeup artists in the world, he has also acted in such movies as From Dusk Till Dawn, Dawn Of The Dead, the new Dawn Of The Dead, Land Of The Dead, and many more.(10-15-05)Of course Dark Xmas has a new official site at www.darkxmas.net and the angelfire site hasn't been used in almost a year, however since a few of you seem to still come to this site I thought I would give it a long overdue update with the 2005 show coming up right around the corner. Guests not listed on this site that will be at Dark Xmas are David Early (Dawn Of The Dead), Lynn Marz (Goth Girls), Nick Tallo (Dawn Of The Dead), Stephanie Aldridge (Descend Into Darkness), Eerie Frequency Entertainment, DSK Productions, Doorway Productions, Joe Knetter, Stanlee Houston, Gwendolyn Kiste, and many many more. We are also in talks with a famous actor from Land Of The Dead and right now it looks like there's a 99.9% chance of him coming. Also make sure to check out the Pre-Dark Xmas show on October 22nd from 5pm to 9pm at Girard Video in Girard Ohio, there will be lots of guests with the guest of honor being Toby Radloff from the HBO movie American Splendor and the star of the Troma films Killer Nerd and Bride Of Killer Nerd.(12-20-04)Merry Xmas from all of us at Dark Xmas!!! The new guest list will be posted soon, the guests listed on it will be nothing less than legends in the realm of classic TV, movies, and movie serials. The other guests listed will be mostly exclusive Dark Xmas guests and not the regulars that you see at every show, with the exceptions of a few of our favorites!(11-25-04)On this Thanksgiving Day of 2004 we are pleased to announce that the rumors are true!!! We will now be holding two horror/sci-fi conventions a year. The new show called DARK KARNIVAL will debute on a weekend in the month of May 2005 in Warren Ohio. The show will be held at the Comfort Inn which is the same hotel that we hold Dark Xmas in. Make sure to check the official website at WWW.DARKKARNIVAL.COM, the website will be up and running in early December.(11-18-04)Make sure to keep checking the NEWS section later this week because we are going to be announcing something really big! Also, thankyou to everyone who attended this years show, we look forward to seeing you again at Dark Xmas 2005.(11-12-04)The Dark Xmas show will start today at 5pm. All guests listed are there with the exception of Sybil Danning who's currently working on a film and had to cancel. Leonard Lies will be appearing today only and then will be heading back to Pittsburgh. This looks to be a pretty great show this year.(11-6-04)Watch the Howard Stern show at 10pm on Tuesday November 9th, Dark Xmas guest Alana Curry will be on the episode with Sandra Taylor.(11-5-04)We have some very sad news, Kim Darby has became very ill and her doctor will not let her fly for the rest of the year which means she will not be able to attend. Her ticket was already paid for and it will be held for up to one year so that will give her the chance to come to next years show. Please do go to her official website at www.kimdarby.com and send her an email wishing her the best.(10-24-04) Don't miss the Dark Xmas preview show held at the Girard Ohio Movie Gallery on October 29th from 5pm to 9pm. Guests appearing there will be Leonard Lies (Machete Zombie from Dawn Of The Dead), Tom Tully (Hotel Manager in The Mothman Prophecies), and many more, click on the link at the main page for more info or call Movie Gallery at 330-545-8273.(10-18-04)We've just added actor Tom Reese to the guest list, Tom played in over 20 episodes of Gunsmoke, he was in The Greatest Story Ever Told, tons of TV episodes including a well known Twilight Zone episode. Our guest list now includes over forty well known and semi known celebrities in the horror and sci-fi genre, some are saying this years guest list is second only to the #1 convention on the northern east coast "Chiller Theatre." (10-1-04)Gene Roddenberry Jr. will be unable to attend due to a schedule conflict. He wants everyone to know that he does appologize and he plans to see everyone at Dark Xmas in 2005. We have selected Michael Berryman to replace Gene on the guest list for 2004's show. Michael has been in many films and TV shows such as The Hills Have Eyes, One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest, Star Trek: The Next Generation episode Conspiracy, Star Trek IV, The X-Files, and many more.(7-15-04)Dark Xmas 2 has decided to change locations to the Comfort Inn in downtown Warren Ohio. This is a much nicer and much larger hotel, we have also made an agreement to hold more shows there as well. New to the guest list are Bill Hinzman (Night Of The Living Dead), Clayton Hill (Dawn Of The Dead, Hellraiser III), Sharon C. Hill (Dawn Of The Dead), and Tom Tully (The Mothman Prophecies). (12/28/03) Dark Xmas 2 will be held again in the Youngstown Ohio area on November 12, 13, and 14. We are pleased to announce that our first confirmed celebrity guest is Bill Blair who has had an amazing career in the Sci-fi genre. He has played in many episodes on Babylon 5, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Star Trek: Voyager, and most recently in Star Trek: Enterprise and Carnival. You can view his official website at www.alienactor.com for more info. (9/15/03) There is a new official site for Dark Xmas at www.darkxmas.com which has better up to date information. There is some very exciting news for Star Trek fans, we have booked Robin Curtis (Savik from Star Trek III: The Search For Spock & Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home) Barbara Luna (Star Trek classic episode "Mirror, Mirror" as Marlena Moreau) and Chase Masterson (Leeta from Star Trek : Deep Space Nine). Unfortunetly for Star Wars fans Peter Mayhew is unable to make it to this years convention because of a pre-scheduled event, we will be happy to consider him for next years convention. Marina Sirtis (Deana Troi in Star Trek: The Next Generation) will be at a fund raising charity event so she will be unable to attend this years show however she is likely to be attending next years show. We also have a nice guest list of Dawn Of The Dead actors who are now celebrating the film's 25th Aniversary (as of now there are three guests from Dawn Of The Dead total, only one or two have been added to the guest list on this site).
