About Me
Right, about me. Well, my name's Lindsay, I'm 22 and I live with my boyfriend Matt in North Yorkshire, England. I used to live in and around Haworth, West Yorkshire, which is where most of my mates are, but we moved after I graduated. Thanks to university, I now have 7 letters after my name (BSc EIMC) and owe £10,000.
We're both heavily into metal, both music and attitude, and have a passion for all things "grrrrrrr!". I play bass guitar and have done so for 7 years. I'm pretty damn good at it, even if I say so myself. I'm not in a band at the moment, due to moving house recently and the fact it's a blag to try sort one out. Maybe soon. Dunno.
My favourite things are, in no specific order: Matt, love, music, books (particularly the Abarat books and others by Clive Barker), rude things, kisses, my cat, my warwick 5-string bass, Shakespeare, theatre, history, painting, vodka and coke, beer, space cake, zombies, special fried rice, manly facial hair, coconut sun-cream, motorbikes (mmm Benelli), piercings & tattoos, wandering bass-lines, my broadsword, creativity, films, the colour you get at the edge of clouds in moonlight, metal clubs, dancing (In my experience, if people wont dance it's probably because they can't), calzone, pizza, Christmas, seeing beautiful things and learning Italian (We're off to Italy next year so I need to be good by then).
Favourite books/plays:Imajica - Clive Barker (and his other work), The Tempest - Shakespeare, Ilium, The Hyperion Cantos - Dan Simmons, The Trolls Grindstone - Elizabeth H. Boyer, Terry Pratchett in general, Steven King, and authors who write for people with both brains and imagination.
Favourite films: Happiness, Edward Scissorhands(and a fair few more of Tim Burton's other films, Sleepy Hollow, Big Fish, N.B.C), Donnie Darko, Event Horizon, Natural Born Killers, True Romance, Shakespeare In Love, old Ray Harryhausen films e.g. Jason and The Argonauts, the Sinbad films. Films about the fantastical and the downright messed up.
Things/People I dislike are, again in no order: Mooks ("ooh I'm so unhappy, everything is so hard for me, daddy won't buy me tickets to see HIM and I'd give anything to be anaemic"), Crap Bands (see Music page), queue jumpers, unfriendly old people, burberry in any form, people with no social skills who stare, people who are oblivious to others, animal cruelty, Ariel Sharon and his policies, people who hurt the people I love, and most normal people in general. That may seem harsh, but I can't tolerate stupidity and the masses are fundamentally dense.
