For my talking tombstone I used a Douglas Fir talking Christmas Tree with an aux jack. Its a must have, or you just might have a tombstone singing christmas carols(hmmm might just keep mine up for chrismas to). Now I removed all the pine needles and cut away the stump. I was extremely caareful not to damage any internal parts(This was the fun part).
After I had stripped Dougie he looked like this. I then tested to make sure he still worked.
I then mounted the mechanics for the eyes and mouth to a foam board tombstone. I used scraps of foam to build up the basic shape of the face.
Ok the I have molded the face. I used crayola mold magic. This stuff works great and dries hard yet is still light weight. I then sealed it using liquid latex it seems crude but it fills in any imprefection. and I built up the edge of the stone to give it a more 3D look to it.
Here it is finished... I painted it with monster mud to seal is from the spraypaint (dont want all that work eatin away)then srayed it with a base coat of gray then I took flexstone paint to give a more real lookand feel.
