Useful Websites
Things that are useful, and web based. Whoo!
Chateau Bizarre - The ultimate links page to anyone after something a little less ordinairy. Whether it be a PVC three piece suit, a swirly silver ear wrap, a double-headed ceremonial burial axe or a nitted dildo cosie (Yes, I've seen them. Trust me, I wasn't looking) you can probably find someone who sells 'em here. To the Alternative Online Catalog Depository!
Ebay - Duh. You been livin' in a hole, boy? I should hope everyone knows what Ebay is, and if you don't... oh, god, please, flee now before it gets you too. In my experience Ebay is a great place to buy things and an absolutely appaling place to sell things, but don't let that put you off.
Live 365 - It's not as good as it once was, but neither is it as bad as most. Yes, ladies and gents, Live 365 is internet radio, maybe not at it's best, but certainly not at it's worst. Enjoy!
Hotmail - Arguably the best email provider on the planet. Why arguably? Well, I'm arguing that it is, but people have been known to contradict me. The fact that those people are frequently nowhere to be found the next day is a moot point. Moral of the story: Get a damn email address if you haven't already, otherwise people won't be your friends.
Livejournal - I've got one. She's got one. We've all got one. If you don't... get one! Livejournal is most likely the best, certainly the most well known, of the online blogging sites and I find it to be quiet useful. I mean, if I need to know anything about anything and I can't find it on Wikipedia, I can probably find a LJcommunity full of experts on the subject.
Angelfire - It's what I'm hosted on, and it's pretty good. There's not many people give you this much space for nothing, and if you want to shift the adds (I know they're annoying. Get a popupblocker already) it's not a lot of money, either.
Xe - Currency conversion. Damn good currency converter too. Quick, simple, accurate, even a monkey could use it. And it's one of those things you always end up using, isn't it?
Wikipedia - Got something you need to know? Chances are someone else in the world knows it, and has written a Wikipedia article on the subject. I know of no other encylopedia, online or no, that carries entries on recent court cases of even passing interest in most countries of the world, with all laws quoted cross referenced, practically every butterfly ever discovered, and almost half of the Japanese bands I know of.
Babelfish - I've been told it's not the best translator out there, but I'm rather fond of it. Besides, nothing's funnier than a normal site translated into Japanese translated into Russian translated into French and then translated into English again, especially when the translator isn't that good. Oh, and you're a little bit drunk. That helps a lot.
Metacrawler - Google may have become a verb, but I personally prefer Metacrawler. Why? Because it searches Google's databases. And Ask's. And Yahoo's. And all the others. Now that's some good searchin'!
