Buying And Selling

Selling

My Ebay

Over the course of the next few weeks or months (As of March, and probably heading on to about May), I'll be selling a whole range of stuff that for whatever reason I don't want/need anymore. This will include:

I've got too much stuff and I need money. If you're interested in any of that and it's not on Ebay, drop me a line and I'll update you. Not to mention, since 'real work' disagrees with me, my plans for making things (Like skirts, which are easy, and outfits, which are hard) and selling them. I've got one or two bits of clothing I'm planning on customising, and for some strange reason I've started making stuffed animals...

Buying

This is basically a 'This year for -insert holiday here- I want...' list. It's SO difficult to find just what you're looking for, even with an archive of links as big as mine (We're talking into triple figures. Seriously) so here's a list of things I want/need/can't find anywhere else. If you can help me in any way, tis most appreciated. So why not Mail Me

Currently, my cashflow is VERY POOR, and I need new clothes. So unless you're offering to sell me 1960's sun dresses or cosy velvet Goff-wear very, very cheaply, most of these 'appeals' are moot at the moment.

Clothes

Traditional Japanese Kimonos, with all the trimmings. Not vintage, I have plenty of places I can get those (And nowhere NEAR enough money) and not those damn PVC ones, either. Not that I don't like them, but I currently have a selection of about seven different designers I could get one from, and they're not the real thing. I prefer plain coloured silks over patterned cottons, and although I would LOVE a Montsuki or a Meiko Kimono, considering the prices I've seen them at, I almost certainly can't afford one! A reccomendation of a good online boutique would be perfect, where I can get hold of sensible coloured under AND outer Kimono, and Obi that aren't two hundred US dollars plus... also anywhere that carries Kanzashi... and, of course, if they've got Tabi, Geta, Pokkuri, Koshimo, Date Jime, Obi Ita, Obi Makura, Obi Age, Obi Jime, and all the rest of them, that's good too. I don't make a habit of going around in full Japanese garb very often, as I'm a red haired Brit who can't do a drum bow for toffees and it looks kinda weird, but I occasionally succumb to the 'easy way out' (Wearing a waist cincher or corset instead of an Obi) and this funny thing of wearing the full Obi, with the drum bow and all the ribbons and scarves, over a blouse and skirt or flouncy Lolita dresses. I also have this nasty habit of wearing my current Kimono (Which is cheap, nasty black cotton, smells of moth balls, yet has moth damage, and has probably never seen outside of the UK in it's lifetime) as a dressing gown or to keep my clothes clean when putting my makeup on, which means it picks up a liberal dusting of coloured powders and glitter around the collar and sleave areas. So now that you're thoroughly forewarned about what kind of tortures these poor things may be put through, you can tell me where to get them. Failing that, a good dress pattern?

Victorian Style Mens Wear. I am a die-hard fan of Oscar Wilde, The Clockwork Orange and rather like Marilyn Manson's new look too, and thus I think I look good prancing around town in platform shoes, a three piece suit, false eyelashes and a bowler hat, much to the scorn of the Levi-ed swarms. I am aware that good quality hats (Top or Bowler varieties are my favourites) are very expensive no matter what, so if anyone can point me to a good retailer that'll do them in different colours (Or women's styles, with a veil, or Victorian mourning top hats, with a chiffon plume down the back *Drools*) for a reasonable price, it's all good. The suits, however... if anyone can find me somewhere that does reasonably priced Gothic Victorian or Neo-Victorian men's couture (I can't buy off the rack or Vintage (HAH) because I've got a 32" chest and the smallest mens' sizes seem to start at a 38"), drainpipe trousers, stand up collar shirts, tail coats, fitted waistcoats, dusters and so on, then I will bow down in awe. And of course... cravats, cufflinks, canes, spats, gloves and pocket watches are among my favourite accesories. PS. Bonus brownie points if anyone finds me a backless (Halter neck) waistcoat or a three piece suit in PVC... corset lacing is EXTRA bonus brownie points :P

An Alice Dress. A REAL Alice dress, just like the one she has in the Disney movie. Pale blue is preferable but I'd settle with a darker colour. Puffed sleeves, peter pan collar and full skirts are a must. I'd much prefer the apron detatchable, with shoulder straps that cross over on the back and can be tied in a big bow. If there's a flouncy white underskirt too, so much the better.
