STEP ONE
After securing my ASA (artificial sensory adaptation) suit, I opened the Futuristica and observed my surroundings. I was flabbergasted! The once green and fruitful prairies of Llamaland Ontario were covered in mountainous plains of trash and wreckage! Pieces of buildings lay all over the ash-filled valleys but none of them stood erect. The once temperate and sunny temperature of the past had become frigid and dark. Colourful clouds decorated the sky. However the ground was a dull grey spectrum. I walked a little ways through the mess. There was a small liquid-filled pit that seems to resemble a pond, only the liquid looked oily.
There were virtually no plants, only small weed-like bushes and fungus grew, mostly near the pond-like bodies. I was tear-struck, reminiscing of the luscious grasses of the past.
When I peered into the oily-pond, I noticed that there were some strange kinds of mutated fish swimming through the oil. All of a sudden, I heard a chilling rustling. Through the shards of broken buildings, appeared the most gruesome creature I had ever seen.
STEP 2
The creature was covered in thick dark wool. Its body was large and had short sturdy legs, anchored by razor-sharp claws. The beast had a long, tentacle-like neck, with a ghastly head of fur. Upon its head was a set of pointy, erect ears, indicating its alertness. It had beady eyes and its gnarl, revealed its sharp-edged canines. What animal could this have come from? I quickly hid behind a mass of wreckage and used my AST to discovere that it was a descendant of the llama!!
STEP 3
It was clearly alone, unlike the traditionally social nature of the llama. As I watched a little longer, it was clear to see the agility in the creature. It trotted over to the pond and swiftly dipped its head into the liquid, ripping out a flapping marine creature. It viciously tore it apart, consuming the entire thing, bones and all. How could this possibly be the fate of our peaceful affectionate llama?
STEP 4
After further investigation with the AST, I learned that the male creatures would challenge each other for a mate. This is similar to the old ways of the llama. They also fought for territory and the most comfortable grounds to live. They had become carnivorous, eating mainly small rodents, fish and birds. As a cause of their dexterous neck, they were able to snatch low flying birds right out of the air. Food is also competition, and although it is somewhat quantitative, the dominant llamas seize the most nutrient food available.
