A primary goal for my summer as an intern was to gain experience with biotechnology tools and techniques in a research environment.
Another goal of the program is that these experiences will impact lesson planning and teaching. Specifically, teacher interns will incorporate biotechnology techniques, content, and issues into their life sicence curriculum. In addition, these classrom activities should reflect national, state, and local learner outcomes.
A third goal is to develop relationships betwen ISU mentors in the research labs and Iowa High School teachers.
