With that being said, I'm sure when you work as a security guy at the airport..finding a passenger carrying a human skull is the last thing you'd expect on one of your work days. But some airport security guards did recently, in the suitcase of one "Severe", an american Haitian born voodoo priestess. Apparently when "Severe" arrived at Fort-Lauderdale International airport, with her skull..officials were none too pleased and immediately stopped the woman and took her into custody.

But here's the question, can carrying a human skull really be a crime? It's not a human head, just a simple skull..which could've come anywhere from a simple stroll through the woods, or someone's science class. Well according to authorities, it is a crime. In fact, Severe was charged with smuggling a human head into the U.S. without proper documentation. Smuggling? The woman stated she was carrying the skull around as part of her religious beliefs. That doesn't exactly fall under the category of smuggling does it? If a latino woman was carrying around her Santa Maria in her luggage, would that be smuggling? Not likely, if there isn't any shifty-eyed or strange behavior being displayed while she's carrying it.

Also one has to wonder..just where does one go to get the "proper" papers to carry around a human skull? What authority figure sits on a throne of power, to which he can either deny or allow those who wish to do so, to carry a human skull or head into the U.S.? Should such documentation even be given out to anyone other than scientists or medical research people? What if some guy named Bob who wasn't in the medical profession asked for such documentation? Would they give it to him, would he wait for the documentation to arrive before he set out with his skull in tow?

Besides, this woman is a voodoo priestess, she has very important things to do such as cursing peoples ex boyfriends, and using her freaky powers to get even with those who have offended her..she has no time for such small matters as seeking out the proper documentation for something as minor as carrying a human skull into the U.S. Those of us who aren't voodoo priests or priestesses don't even have time to renew our drivers licenses, and we aren't performing such daunting tasks as hexing people day in and day out. But alas, the judge went easy on Severe when she appeared in court, giving her two years probation, fining her one grand, and ordering her to find a job...one that doesn't involve human remains and voodoo no doubt.

She originally faced 15 years in jail for the alleged crime (just a slap on the wrist considering it was her first offense). By the way..how does probation work for a voodoo priestess?? So she's barred from bringing anymore skulls into the U.S. for a year, or is she barred from using her freaky voodoo powers for a year, or is it both? What if she brings a human heart or eyeball along with her during her next trip to the states? Will that count against the skull offense? Ugh! So many questions..but is this weird? You bet your ass it is.
