MY CONSTRUCTIVE ACTION TOPIC
For my CA class, Managing Economic Resources, I would like to make a proposal to my manager about the possibility of opening a new department. This department will help the company and my coworkers to economize time and money. The company I work for, Meridian VAT Reclaim, is a company that recovers European taxes for companies that conduct business overseas. I work in the Client Services department. Every two months, all of the Client Service representatives get a query report indicating the amount of queries that they are expected to resolve. The new department I have in mind consists of two people who will be in charge of the specific task of restyling documents (obtaining original documentation). From being able to focus exclusively on restyling, this group will save time for the client service and sales departments, it will reduce the total number of query reports and most importantly, it will avoid a loss of money. To accomplish this goal, I will need to apply research skills to determine the size and value of my project. My initial estimate is that this department could save the company around two million dollars per year. In addition to research, excellent communication skills will be integral to learn and apply additional strategies and ideas from coworkers' feedback. And finally, improving the technical knowledge I have about this subject will help to achieve my goal.
