2002 Recap 2002 was the inaugural year of the Derrick Williams Fantasy Football League (DWFFL). Ten teams were split into two conferences: the East and the West. The East was a combined 9-16 vs. the West in the regular season which helped the West land the top two teams in the league. The presidents trophy winners (team with best regular season) were the Polymorphic Pacifists run by Scott. They went a stunning 11-2 and manhandled opponents in the regular season averaging almost 10 points per game more than anyone else. They had an average margin of victory of 19+ points per game. That being said, the most stunning stat of the regular season belonged to Silent But Deadly. They went 10-3 in the regular season while out scoring their opponents by 15 points all season. Yes, that is 1.15 points per game. The real battle was between the Horny Priests and Obligatory Nude Scene of the East. Obligatory Nude Scene was a solid 6-2 in the regular season within its division but both losses came at the hands of the Horny Priests. Because of that they finished second in the division and were forced to win 3 for the title after getting no bye. The funniest team had to be that of I Try When I Want To. They allowed a league low in points at 78.92 points per game, but they only scored 70 per game which was second to last in the league. They finished 4-9 but won their playoff game, giving them a lottery pick in the upcoming rookie draft. The Playoffs went as scripted the first week but all hell broke loose in week two as the goliath that was the Pacifists laid an egg and lost to second seed Silent But Deadly. Across the way in the other conference Obligatory Nude Scene got back at the Horny Priests with squeaker of a victory, vindicating themselves after two regular season losses. Championship week was entertaining as the giant that was Scott's team fell off the earth and lost for the second time in as many weeks in the third place game. After an 11-2 regular season record the playoffs were torture for the Pacifists as they went 0-2. In the championship game, there was a good battle for the title as Silent But Deadly and Obligatory Nude Scene were grappling for the crown. With the conclusion of the afternoon games Silent But Deadly down 39 to 57 to Obligatory. Jason had Harrison and Griese to go while Derrick had Toomer and the Philly D still to go. The smart money had Harrison and Griese netting 18 more than Toomer and the Philly D which would have landed Silent But Deadly a championship. As the afternoon games kicked off Harrison and Toomer were playing each other in the RCA Dome in Indy. The first news however came from Denver where Griese had thrown for 40 yards and 2 picks. Gud Frerotte was coming in. Wait.. what? For real? Griese leaves the game at -2..? Now it was up to Harrison to throw up 20 more than Toomer and Philly combined. Well the wheels came off at that point for Jason. On Fox you could watch Philly scored 3 TD's on defense and on CBS Collins was heaving up TD's to Toomer, 4 of them to be exact. When it was all done, Toomer had 42 points, a record for a receiver in a game and Obligatory Nude Scene was victorious to the tune of 121-61.
