Welcome to Ang's space!

Gidday - Ang here! I'm terrible at remembering what I've told whom, so the plan for this website is to keep everyone informed about the going's on in Milford Sound while I'm there.

Check back often.. I promised to update this whenever I have news.

But I'm doing a crap job so far!

I'd love to hear back from you, so click on the link below if you want to make a comment or reply.

Milford

Well, things with Blair officially turned to shit. "The reason I left with that other girl was because I didnt have the balls to tell you that things arent working."

What a F**KING LOSER! On top of the world to flat on your face in 24 hours. Crazy man, crazy. All the girls are talking about shit like putting laxative in his food, short sheeting his bed etc etc, but he;s not worth the effort.

They all say "There's plenty more fish in the sea" but guys, c'mon, this is MILFORD. A good man is extrememly hard to come by. Beer goggles or no.

Peace

Te Anau

There's a jumpy feeling in my bones. I feel all jumpy and that means that something is going to happen. This feeling has never let me down before. I'm so excited.

But now that I have seven minutes left of internet time up my sleeve - I best write a better update - fridays was a pretty piss poor effort I must say.

Well, Well well well. Yeah. Um things are going good methinks. Almost to the end of the season - I've got itchy itchy feet; it's definatly time to move on.. six months in the same place leaves me feeeling very sedentary and very BLAH.

Jas stuff is completley over and done with. He has himself a new lady who is 30. GO JAS! Hehehe.

Well, I'm on holiday for one more night (hence the reason i am te anau) as I managed to wangle 4 days leave instead of the usual 2. I plan to be back in milford by tomorrow night as that is when Blair is in.

Blair? I hear you say. .

He's my new friend. ;) Will keep you posted.

So as a summary, I'm doing good. To everyone who thought I wouldn't survive when I left home 3 years ago, well GUESS WHAT! NOT ONLY AM I SURVIVING - I AM LIVING SUCH A BLOODY FANTASTIC LIFE! Never again will I sacrifice my personal happiness for anything.

Happiness took a long time to find... and I went all the wrong ways about it. I have learnt that personal happiness can not be supplied by a boyfriend, a good job, or a nice place to live.

My personal happiness comes from being free. To be me. And having experienced being Ang, just Ang, and NOT Ang who is someones girlfriend, flatmate or family member... I have discovered that you know what?

Ang is a pretty ok person to be.

At Whakatane

Well, hello everyone, long time no write!!

Before you do a double take and go In Whakatane? Isnt she supposed to be in Milford Sound?EWell, I have been in Milford Sound, but Ive come up here for the weekend for my brother Jamies wedding to Sarah.

Awesome awesome wedding, everything was so pretty and Sarah looked so beautiful. I had to do a reading before the actual ceremony took place and I didnt cry, so Im quite pleased about that. At mums wedding I cried and said This is the happiest life of my day.EOo-er.

But yeah, Milford Sound! I havent written anything here in ages because its been really full on, being the beginning of the season and all, and no-one seems to quite know what theyre doing.

I am hap-hap-happy in Milford. Everyone is so cool, my job is great ESouviner Shop and accounts stuff Ethe living quarters are fantastic, big room, cute little ensuite, staff meals are fantastic! Ive been eating lots of vegetable and feel healthier that Ive felt in ages.

I expect Id feel even better if I stopped drinking so much. But what else is there to do in Milford? The pubs the place to go see everyone and socialise, and I love being around people Eso thats where I head to (its about 100 metres away from the staff quarters back door!!) once my 8-9 pm shift is over. The bar people know my name, what I drink, and how much.

On a closing note, I have broken up with Jason. It wasnt working out for me, and until I got out and did my own thing, I never realised how lonely etc I was most of the time in Timaru. I feel a lot better on my own, but naturally, break-ups arent easy, and I hope one day Jas and I will end up being friends.

? Tuesday 28th October

TE ANAU! Woo-hoo-hoo!

Well, here I am! Stayed last night at a motel on the waterfront and it was a bit rugged, but still clean and tidy.

Reported to the Milford Guided Walks office and recieved my uniform.. not as bad as I thought it would be.. black nylon trackpants, royal blue polo shirts - but not the kind with all the holes - just cotton. I was allowed a pair of shorts as well, but they were stubbies (which does not impress me) so I got another pair of pants instead.

Have met up with a lovely girl called Andrea who spent 6 months in America doing the summer camps, and is now doing a six month stint in Milford before tally-ho-ing back to USA again. We went for a coffee (our shuttle leaves at 10:15 - its now 9:30) but I had a couple of "breakfast ales" instead, and am now feeling rather merry

But I've got an hour and a half in a van for it to wear off so my conscience is eased.

Te Anau is lovely - my alps are right there across the lake, and it almost feels like I could reach out and touch them. I cannot wait for the drive into Milford. There are some awesome people who will be working at the Lodge, and it looks to be a night on the piss down there tonight.

Well, time to tally ho, I'm going to go and get supplies.. and see what kind of beverages I can smuggle into the lodge! Heh heh, take care all, I'm having the time of my life and it hasnt even started yet!

Still in Timaru

We had our boozy night and it was the most fun ever! I have grazed knees and I don't know how, tee-hee. The bouncer didnt want to let me in the pub because he said I was wobbling around too much, but LUCKILY for me, the boots I was wearing have a broken heel.. so we showed it to him:

"See, look at that shoe! You try walking straight with a shoe like that. I am highly offended at your callous remark in regard to the state of my sobriety."

He let me in. Heh heh heh.

All that aside, what an awesome night with my girls.

Well, time to go and sleep again.. I've definatly been healthier. Then it's high-ho Milford Sound. Farewell.

Still in Timaru

Well this is the last entry I will make before heading off to Milford. Scary huh?

Jas left on monday to go paddling in Murchison, and he won't be back before I leave, so starts 6 weeks of "Ang On Her Own." It'll be good for me.

I'm halfway finished packing, everything is organised, all I have to do is jam it all in bags and wait for my bus.

The girls and I (Tra and Dee) and going out on Thursday night - we always used to go out on Thursdays - for a final booze hag assault on Town. How did they know it was exactly what I wanted to do before I left? Dunno. But it's awesome. I love those girls.

Still in Timaru

It's my last day at work, it's my last day at work la-de-da-de-da! Don't get me wrong, I truly love my job, and the people, etc, but it's time to move on.. I've got a week to go until I go!

Just distributed a couple of gifts around to people I work with (they are lovely people here)and got the coffee machine brewing for the last time WOO!

And I work off three different phone lists, and heaps of notes jotted down as well, so i have to compile it all into one phone list for the new receptionist.

I am procrastinating but it has to be done.

Still in Timaru

Had a pretty quiet weekend. Jason was home most of the time during the day which was wonderful. We took the dog for a walk yesterday and got so hungry that we made the biggest, flashest cooked lunch with like super BLTs but with sausage and egg (no egg for me) instead of bacon.

I could relax a lot of the weekend knowing that my preparation for Milford is all going fantastically, for example, my bus tickets are all booked and paid for, my accommodation for the Sunday and Monday are organised, booked and paid for, and Ive got a lot of my shopping out of the way too. (i.e. PVC jacket, new running around the rainforestEshoes etc)

Yesterday afternoon was both lovely and terribly sad. I am fortunate to have as my friend, a very special guy called Pitta, who is on Jasons course with him. I wasnt sure Id get much of a chance to see him before I left, so we went out for coffee. I really enjoyed the hour or so, but there was a bit of a teary end to it (on my part).
