TRUTH that Deuteronomy teaches ACTION that Deuteronomy invites
1. Steps to know GOD and His ways
The central theme of Deuteronomy is how GOD makes his people mature spiritually. The LORD will not allow us to overlook any of the steps in this process and will keep us busy following them until the end.

Know that GOD will make you confront again any aspect of spiritual development that you try to pass over.

Don't despise the little advances. The process toward spiritual maturity almost always consists of small steps, not of great leaps.

32:11,12
Rest in the care with which GOD nourishes you. Know that the LORD is concerned for you, will guide you and lead you to spiritual maturity.

2. Steps toward dynamic devotion
Deuteronomy adds much to our knowledge of what it is to be consecrated to GOD with all our heart and soul. It emphasizes the need of giving oneself to him completely and calls his people to follow him with all their strength.

Seek and depend on GOD. Without doing so, victory is not only improbable, but impossible.

4:1,2,6-8
Study the Word of GOD regularly. Apply it to all that you think and do. GOD will show his goodness and generosity.

4:29; 6:4,5
Seek the face of GOD constantly. Don't forget to pray and meditate about the Scripture.

3. Steps toward holiness
Holiness means being separated from the world and distinguishing yourself from it. The Book of Deuteronomy offers much light about the way to edify lives completely dedicated to GOD.
11:18-21
Practice memorizing passages of the Scripture and meditating upon them, to fix the Word of GOD in your mind and allow it to orient your conduct.

12:25; 28:32
Seek in the Scriptures the paths that GOD wants you to travel in your life, and travel them in a way that pleases Him.

30:15-20
Understand that choosing any course of action also chooses its consequences. GOD can't bless and make prosper the disobedient and unfaithful.

4. Instructions for growing in piety
Deuteronomy pays much attention to the things that will help you to live always aware of the presence of GOD, opening more room each day for the LORD in your life. Pious people are concerned with maintaining an adequate and disciplined attitude in their relations with others. Deuteronomy also embraces the theme of how to respect the authority that GOD has over your life and the conduct of human beings.
8:10-20
Watch out for pride when you are blessed by GOD. Know that prosperity often gives way to arrogance, and makes us forget that the LORD is the source of all blessings.

12:4,8,13
Regularly examine your attitudes in light of the Word of GOD.

13:1-5
Put to the proof every ministry through the Word of GOD.

18:21,22
Reject any ministry that is not up to the Word of GOD.

21:18-21
Pay attention to how to discipline your children. Rebellious children bring shame to their parents and don't honor the LORD.

5. Steps toward confronting sin
It's important to confront the sins of the heart and attitude before they take root and lead to hateful conducts.
Watch out for bitterness in your own heart and before GOD's people. Many times that sentiment drives GOD's people apart.

31:5-8
Turn your back on fear, hostility and discouragement. Every lack of faith is sin. Trust in GOD's presence. The LORD promises to always be with you and protect you from all fear.

31:29
Maintain your awareness of your tendency to sin and forget GOD. Remember and rest in the power and provision of the LORD.

6. Keys to achieving moral purity
Deuteronomy reiterates that moral and sexual purity are essentials for maintaining faithfulness to the GOD of the Covenant. GOD's standards don't allow compromise with those of the world, and usually noticeably contrast with those who surround GOD's people.
22:13-21
Value virginity; don't be ashamed of it. Reject the irresponsible attitude toward sex that prevails today. Understand that GOD places great value on sexual purity.

22:22
Flee from adultery and detest it; honor marital faithfulness. Understand that GOD rejects adultery and always judges it severely.

7. Instructions for obtaining the victory
Many passages of the Scriptures induce us to involves ourselves in an active struggle, in which we have to conduct ourselves as good soldiers. It's not surprising then that it's so important to learn to obtain the victory in this battle.
3:21,22
Remember that the battle is of the LORD. Think about how to fight for Him and rest in his victory. GOD will struggle for you.

30:11-14
Trust that GOD will give you the power to fulfill his demands. Understand that our life in Christ is a life of faith. Depend on his constant provision.
