Quabbin 'Overpopulated'

By Sarah Boucher
Quabbin Regional High School has become very over populated especially in the school year of 2001-2002. A lot of new students have come and also many middle school students have graduated to the 9th grade. All these students have created crowded hallways, classrooms, and lockers.

In the school year of 2001-2002 many students have crowded the hallways and other surrounding areas. Having so many people in a school may affect our performance. “Having so many people in a classroom makes it hard to concentrate and learn one on one”, says senior, Bonnie Davis. “We need to make the amount of students in a class smaller or make more classes to fit these extra students into.” Getting to classes is even hard by the jam in the hallways, making students late and the problem with the parking lot fits into this issue having to many people and not enough spaces. We have to many people and not enough space causing problems throughout the school and will continue to grow until we find a way to fix this. “Even teachers seem to be having a hard time teaching large groups”, Bonnie added,” they seem unorganized and unable to control a large group distracting them from teaching and the students from learning.” We need the faculty to take control over this issue and organize how they are running this school. Limiting the amount of students into the school and giving them another option for schooling. We have a certain capacity amount and right now we are exceeding it greatly.
