A Sad Good-bye

As I said good bye,
My heart filled with sorrow.
Thinking about life,
Which road to follow.
My losing you,
Was my greatest fear.
My world empty now,
Without you here.
Preacher said many things,
Very few I recall.
Only that life to short,
Tomorrow not promised at all.
As I place this yellow rose,
I knelt to the ground.
Closed my eyes and imagine you,
With angels all around.
My heart is broken now,
There no way to fill the void.
But memory is a gift from God,
That even death cannot destroy.
