Love's Rules

We all know the rules of love,
All are guilty of breaking them.
But does make one wonder,
What others hide within.
Honestly is the best policy,
We all heard that one.
But we all tell the "little white lie",
To keep from hurting the other person.
We may say your hair looks nice,
Oh I just love that style.
Or your be my friend to the end,
Trying to make that person smile.
Love is a different story,
And lies become so cruel.
When the lying starts,
We break all of love rules.
Love plants the seeds,
Of trust and truth.
But with one little lie,
It can sever love roots.
Most will be able to forgive,
The lies and the pain.
But very few forget,
Makes it hard to trust again.
