The Hurt Inside
by Shelby ©
Love sure can be very strange,
Making your life complicated.
Hating the one who you had loved,
Loving the one you've hated.
Figuring out who you are,
Leaves tangled webs in your mind.
Words of tenderness he'd spoken,
Or had he just been being kind.
You tell yourself it doesn't matter,
Your heart will one day mend.
But you know deep inside your soul,
That the hurt will never end.
Every where you may travel,
You think you see a glimpse of him.
How foolish one heart can be,
Living in a state of pretend.
And even in your dreams,
It's his face you'll always see.
You know no way to escape,
Why couldn't he have loved me.
