Sunset Parti Poodles I started in Poodles almost 20 years ago now. My first was a pet and took little time for me to contract MPS. I have chosen the more unusual colours (reds) and we showed several of them but neverh ad any success in a champion and the colour was not readily accepted in the ring. Now we are showing Shania, in all her black glory, with a professional handler and she is half way there.
The Miniatures we started about 4 years ago, under the guidance of a long time breeder and mentor, Peggy Cooper, from Sonora Poodles. We are just now getting some really nice babies and are looking hard at what to show and what not to.
Quality, not quantity is the motto at Te-Awa/Sunset and so we do test. In every line of Standards that I touched from the very beginning, came this piebald pattern that I now know is the Parti. I began looking into the beginning of the breed and was quite surprised at what I found. Knowing that the colour was incorrect for PCA and AKC showing, I fixed all of the coloured pups and placed them in pet homes. When my Karlee gave birth to twelve coloured pups I could no longer ignore this colour. Two of the pups caught my eye and I wanted to keep them so I did. There began the Parti's, a year later I put up this web list and announced to the world that I was breeding Parti's. The response was different this time than when I tried to talk to people about it 8 years ago or so. Then the response was terrible.

Coquette Poodles I raise full size toy and miniature poos and have two parti guys coming along. I do what I consider excellent pet quality breeding and do occasionally have pups for sale. I will be venturing into the multi's when my guys are old enough.

'I am Joy C. Being an animal lover from early childhood, it is only natural that I chose to work with dogs. I started raising German Shepherds in 1965 & Poodles in 1980. I worked with the best instructors, and when ready, started teaching obedience. I have been teaching obedience classes and giving private lessons since 1968. I have taught adult education canine obedience in two high schools and BOCES. I have shown our German Shepherds to many obedience titles. I hope in the future to be able to do the same with our poodles. I also was a veterinary assistant for a number of years. I have found that I am very taken with the parti and phantom poodles and hope to help promote Beautiful, typey, poodley healthy partis and phantoms so they are accepted , if not by PCA, at least by the public and show breeders as a credit (not a detriment) to the breed!!
