Paros Diary.
Fri
10th Aug
We travelled to Paros and whilst on the ferry I saw some of the
most gorgeous water. I dont know why it seemed so different,
but they clear blue colour has really stuck with me.
After settling into our new place (accommodation care of the port
again) I went wandering with the aim of finding somewhere to watch
the All Blacks vs Australia replay the following day. Tall order
you say? I agree, however my mission was a success. I found two
establishments who had British Sky Sport and they said that they
would show the game. Excellent.
We savoured the local culture that night and Marie found a Baileys
cocktail that was so nice, it wouldnt be the last one consumed
on that island.

Sat 11th Aug
10:30am replay. Doesnt matter where you are in the world,
religion is religion. Four other Kiwi's had joined me outside the
café (I had met them on the beach yesterday) and we were
all primed ready to watch. Well one observation I have of Greece
is their speed or lack of in everything they do. Ergo,
we were now informed the place didnt open till 11am.
At this point one of the kiwi blokes (from Otago) said to me "dont
worry mate, you wont like the result anyhow". When I
asked him what he meant his reply was "well seeing as youre
an Aussie" not a good thing to say. I love Australia,
its a great place, but lets not get carried away.
When we finally got in our worst nightmares were realised. They
didnt actually have British Sky Sport. They had Greek Super
Sport. Hmmm. The first move was to make it to the other place showing
the game, however my previous days successful scouting mission
was thwarted when they too didnt actually have Sky. At this
point a very unhappy man had to go to an internet café and
find out the result. Oh the joy of travelling with an Australian.
Marie certainly enjoyed laughing at me that day.
We shall have our revenge. Oh yes, we shall have our revenge.
