Mykonos
Diary.
Sun
12th Aug
Our last island, Mykonos is renowned for being a gay and a party
island. It certainly lived up to those standards.
Our initial problem on this island was finding accommodation. Unlike
all the other islands Mykonos was booked out. The only places available
were rooms for 4-5 people. We quickly made friends with a French
guy called Nanu (short for Emmanuel) and managed to find a room
for two nights.
As with the other islands, nothing really happens before midnight
so we went out a little later as we were getting accustomed
to the island lifestyle.

Mon 13th Aug
After sorting out tickets back to Athens we went to Paradise Beach
and walked into a MTV music video. The beach had the usual deck
chairs and umbrellas, but also sported 4 bars, two swimming pools,
and about a million people in swimmers and skimpy bikinis. They
were all dancing on tables/chairs/bar tops/lifeguard towers to the
music, which was pumping from the speaker stacks. It was amazing.
If you havent seen it, you cant really understand it.
I wish I had taken my camera.
On the cliff edge nearby was Cavo Paradise apparently the
club to go to. It opens at 4 AM and goes till mid-dayish when you
go back to the beach and start all over. Very mad place.
That night we had dinner at midnight and went out to another bar
in the main city. Again great music, people dancing on bar tops
and lights swinging from the ceiling, need I go on...
