Conferencing and Events Executive April 1998 - May 2000

Client facing role within a 4 1/2 star international beachside hotel. This role included coordinating over 500 conferences and 100 wedding receptions per annum. The hotel boasted 208 accommodation rooms, 9 conference rooms (including the Grand Ballroom accommodating 600 guests), 2 bars, restaurant, gymnasium & swimming pool.

Responsibilities

  Budget generation, financial accounting and business forecasting
Resource management
Relationship building with existing client base as well as introducing new business to the hotel
Daily client contact through telephone, personal and digital mediums
Telephone sales
Development of proposals and cost quotations for conferences and wedding receptions
Liaising, communicating and reporting with all levels of management
Briefing production team on timings and details of each event
Direct mail generation

  Achievements

Generating a high conversion percentage of sales inquiries into confirmed business
Part of two man team who secured 3rd in the Top 20 Conference Venues in Australia for the category of Conference Venue.
