I am a pencil; I draw my own destiny on a blank sheet of paper. I portray a significant role in my own masterpiece of story. I write what was there yesterday, what is here today, and what will be there tomorrow. I have a sharp, pointed end that opens the eyes of the common people. I hurt them and I blind them with truth. I lead them and I walk with them throughout my life. I have an eraser on the other end. This is to protect me from the cruelties of life. It erases my fears, weaknesses, and painful past and my life under fire. It offers me hope of rewriting my tale and it leads me to see a new set of pictures to draw. I need to be sharpened from time to time. It is the people and the experiences that I encounter each day that make me wiser. Some of the blades hurt me or humiliate me, but it is the same blade that will shape me into a better form. My body is made of wood, which comes from a tree. The tree is a symbol of life. I am made out of life to sustain life and to give life. The lead is my spine, marking wisdom for people’s young hearts and mind. I can break anytime for I am fragile. I can live forever for I am immortal. I can be passed from generation to generation but my legacy can stop right here. I am a pencil that draws the line between good and evil. I am the master of my own creation. I am an individual made to enjoy life. |
