Smidy Kicks 1000

On Saturday 17th of May 2008 in the Round 6 clash with Woodville South, Brett Smid booted 9 goals to help the Walkerville A Grade win once again. Brett kicked his 1000th goal during this match from a career stemming back to 1992. Brett has lead the goal kicking for the A Grade in 1992, 1996 - 2001, 2003 - 2005 & 2007. Brett's highest tally for a season is 95 goals which was achieved in 2003. Brett has played a little under 250 games and for anyone who likes numbers, it isn't hard to work out Brett has been an outstanding contributor to the Walkerville Football Club. Congratulations Brett, keep up the good work.

A Note From Dad

G'day Guys, just thought I'd let you know, Kat had a baby boy on Tues night, Samuel Bailey Cock. 7lb 2oz, 52cm long. Another rover under the father-son rule for the cats. Zanks, another player for you to hand down the number 9 jumper too!!!

B Grade Coach Announcement

2005 B Grade Best and Fairest winner Andrew Giles ( see player profile) was recently announced the 2008 B Grade Coach. Andrew who joined Walkerville in 2002 was over the moon with the appointment and indicated that he will now show all of his ex-coaches, what coaching is all about including playing himself in his favourite and best positions. Andrew has played 58 A Grade, 50 B Grade and 1 C Grade game in his 109 games for the club and as yet has also not indicated if he will wear the number 1 Guernsey this year.

No details yet on who will be in his game day coaching team.
