Well we are half way through the season and the playoff picture is starting to develop in the West. The central division is same old same old with the Detroit Red Wings in first and the St. Louis Blues chasing them. Once again the Hawks and the Blue Jackets are fighting not to be in last place. Slightly surprising is the Nashville Predators who are holding a spot in the playoffs.
The Northwest division is really shaken up this season with the Vancouver in first and the Calgary Flames and Aves fighting for second place. Not surprisingly the Wild are unable to continue to play the top notch hockey that brought them to the Western Conference Finals last season.
In the Pacific the Sharks return to supremacy after missing the playoffs last season, but Phoenix is not giving them any breathing room. At the bottom the Ducks are wondering what happened to the magic that took them to the Conference final last season.
