| Aves sign Bates Battaglia to a
one-year deal. Bates Battaglia was acquired by the Aves from the Hurricanes
this past season at the trade dead line. This player is a power forward that
adds a physical presence to there offense that is much needed with players
like sakic and new pick up Paul Kariya who are not physical players. The
Aves are coming off a disappointed playoff performance and are doing everything
to make sure there will not be another repeat of the First round loss to
