Economic geology, ore genesis, ore microscopy, mineralogy, optics, metamorphic petrology, plate tectonics, remote sensing applications

Research Interests:

Since 1980 I have spent much of my research time working in the Himalaya, initially during tenure of a research fellowship of the Wadia Institute of Himalayan Geology, Dehradun, and subsequently since joining the Aligarh Muslim University. Main areas of research have been:

1. Tectonic Evolution and Metallogeny in the Himalayan Region

2. Petrogenesis of the Askot Crystallines, Kumaon Himalaya

3.  Basemetal Mineralization in the Askot area, Kumaon Himalaya

4. Sulfide Mineralization in the Parsoi Formation of Mahakoshal Group

5. Methods of polishing ores for microscopic examination
