SOMETIMES I WONDER

Sometimes I wonder... what it must be like on your side; to be the one who had to leave her baby girl behind. Sometimes I wonder... what I'd do if I were in your shoes; would I have had the courage and the strength you had to choose? Sometimes I wonder... what my life would be like if you stayed; would it have been as I had dreamed, perfect in every way? Sometimes I wonder... why and how you could abandon me; was I a burden on your life? Did you need to be free? Sometimes I wonder... where you are or if you even care that my life continued on and you were never there. Sometimes I wonder... if I pass you walking down the street; or if a day will ever come when you and I will meet. Sometimes I wonder... who you are and what you have been through. For now I realize, way back then you were a kid too.
