"Silver Grove Independent High School and LaFarge Gypsum Plant are working together in order to secure a grant from the World Wildlife Fund. Mr. Belden's student researchers will be conducting a biological survey to monitor and count the populations of individual species of birds, reptiles, and amphibians. These three species are excellent bio-indicators on the health of existing ecosystems. We will also be conducting water quality tests, in-depth studies of the indigenous Fauna and Flora. This study will be conducted over a period of one year. At the end of this year all of the data will be comprised into one report, and presented to the World Wildlife Fund."
