Alder Bridge

Welcome to Alder Bridge update center! The City Council is considering paying for decorative lights in other neighborhoods (see "The Tribune Times" article featured this week), but of course, they cannot spare the money to fix the only bridge that the city is responsible for maintaining since it is in Westwood.
    If you are mad about the bridge being out on Alder Drive, you need to call the following people about it. Simpsonville City Council is talking about not ever fixing this bridge unless enough people speak up about this issue (see for Alder Bridge News Updates more information about the current situation). Alder Drive, the road on which Alder Bridge is located on, is a main road for residents of Westwood, Hunter's Woods and surrounding neighborhoods when taking their children to Plain Elementary. It is also the road that connects Westwood and keeps some traffic of off Fairview Road.

    The Simpsonville City Council meets every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month in Simpsonville City Hall at 6:30pm. This matter needs to be brought before Pat Thomas, Mayor Dennis Waldrop and City Administrator Russell B. Hawes. Currently, the only City Council member who is trying to get the bridge re-opened is Bob Gecy. Any interested citizens and the general public is welcome to attend. Please plan to attend if you can. Alder Bridge's fate will be decided at one of the upcoming meetings.
