Culmore Scout Unit Home Page

A warm welcome to one and all. Welcome to our website.

The Culmore Scout Unit was started up in September 1999 by a priest of the Parish called Rev Seamus Kelly. We have Beaver, Cub and Scout Sections. The Cubs went to Cuboree 2000 in 2000. The Beavers went to the cinema and went on a walk around the Derry Walls. The Cubs and Scouts went on various camps. They recently went on a camp to Stroove, were they did various activities. The Cubs got their various badges.

From January 1st 2004 there will be only one joint association in Ireland, Scouting Ireland.

This association will consist of the members of both of the previous Scout Associations, Scouting Ireland CSI and Scouting Ireland SAI.

In 2003 one of the Cub Leaders called Jonathan Coyle was a Volunteer with the Special Olympics World Games Held in Ireland.
The Special Olympics were held in Ireland in June 2003. Jonathan was a volunteer helping out in the accomodation area in Belfast a place called Stranmillis College. The activity that was on in Belfast in the Kings Hall was roller skating event. It was very excellent. The closing ceremony in Croke Park Dublin was mental.
