THE WHITMIRE FIRE DEPARTMENT

Whitmire Fire Department proudly protects 2100 people living in an area of not given square miles. We operate out of one station that protects a primarily residential area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a volunteer status. We have an ISO rating of 6. We have 17 fireman that is certified by the state of South Carolina. To be certified by the state, they have to have at least 1121,1131, and 1112 courses or the new 1152. We have four pumpers, two tanker, one service Van and a brush truck. We have our own air compressor to fill our SCBA's. We serve the county of Newberry and the City of Whitmire residents. We have mutal aid with Laurens and Union counties.
