Linux

Linux is a free operating system in which I have more than a passing interest. This is mostly because I use computers to write programs, and Linux comes with all of the programming tools you might possibly imagine, and more than a few that you've probably never heard of. Unfortunately, Linux does have few drawbacks, most of them having to do with ease of use, although this is improving. Following are a few Linux-related pages I find interesting.

• Linux.org - has good general information about Linux
• Linux.com - Another Linux site - this one has more frequent updates, news, jobs, etc.
• Linux Journal - On-line site for a paper magazine, which I pick up every once in a while.
• Gnome - Web site devoted to (among other things) making a good looking desktop environment for Linux
