Vice President's  Message

Happy New Year!!!

Happy New Year all you VW lovers out there!! Well we're into the new year, making plans for attending shows, meetings, get-togethers and what have you.  This one is a little later than usual, due to my being up in Southport, North Carolina for the month of January on business, so I'm taking some editorial license and combining a little bit from last month and a little bit from this month!

Last month we had the pleasure of meeting Sue and John O'Reilly, who attended our Oktoberfest show, liked what they saw, and joined the LCVWC to meet fellow VW owners and find others who might be able to help them restore their convertible. Welcome to the club guys!!  We've had a flurry of folks emailing and asking questions about the LCVWC, so it seems we're being fairly successful in spreading the word that we're still up and running as a club!  Our web site is making a difference as Inga and I have received emails from England, Australia and the latest one being from Japan!  I received a note from Mr. Atsushi-Nobusawa, an officer of the Volkswagen Owners Club KdF of Japan VW Club who found our site surfing the web and wanted to learn more about us and our cars. We plan on continuing our club dialogue, and who knows where it will take us.  Maybe a cyber tour to Japan to check out how they do things in the far east.  Here's the link, so check out their web site at: Volkswagen Owners Club KdF of Japan

With the new year upon us, it's again time to think about membership dues which are paid during  January and it's still only $12.00 for a year's worth of excitement, camaraderie and VW tales!  Dues go into various things, one of which is to pay for supplies and stamps to get our newsletter out to all our members.  As mentioned in last month's letter, many of our members don't own computers, so the "Snail Mail" edition is very important in keeping our members informed of events.  So please, take the time this month, send in your dues and help keep all of our great members informed of club events and happenings.

Well I've rambled on long enough, so on with this month's edition of the Low Country VW Club Gazette!  Thanks for your support, looking forward to seeing you at next month's meeting which will be held Wednesday, February 4th at 6:30 pm. at Matt's on Rivers Ave.  See you at the meeting!
