Mr Lonely

• As I watch the couples go by hand in hand
• my finger burns from the last wedding band
• Words shouted, pain felt, it was not how it should be
• and the precious child now gone at the age of three
• The car crash was caused by a man who was drunk
• and he didn't even get a scratch the dirty skunk
• A loss like that was too much for her to bear
• while she acted like I didn't even care
• And now here I walk the streets Mr. Lonely and blue
• to think and ponder with what happened with me and you
• Cold and hungry with a weeks worth of beard on my face
• I look terrible and slowly hang my head in disgrace
• Maybe one day my strength will return and I'll be me
• till then these chains of sorrow won't set me free
• One day the memories won't bother to chill my soul
• the question when it will happen is what I want to know...
