BOOT'S - BATTERED
Battered
- The stinging slap makes her son cry out loud
- and his drunk father looks like he's really proud
- His Mother lies in the corner a bloody heap
- as her 9 year old son falls to his knees to weep

- Life in a family is not supposed to be this way
- but it seems to happen more and more each day
- Anger breeds hurt and things get out of hand
- and the glow dies slowly on her wedding band
- Famlies are shaken and vows are not true
- and seeing a woman beaten tears the heart in two
- The kids involved are the ones who pay the price
- and what they go through is not very nice
- So remember folks when you get mad at each other
- to hit and hurt is not the way of a lover
- Walk away before you strike that first blow
- or hate and hurt will be the only seeds you'll sow...
