The United States Congress recessed in November of 2002 with 11 of the 13 appropriations bills for 2003 still not completed. As a result, the TBI Act has yet to receive the increases in funding that we are hoping it will get from all of our hard work lobbying this past year. Congress next meets on January 7, 2003 and will have just 5 days to take up and pass the remaining 11 bills, so you can be sure they will be preparing the final numbers before then. Therefore, we have only the next few weeks to make one final push to Congress to ask them to provide the $36.8 million that the TBI Act needs and deserves for 2003.
