Lonely Sound
by Shelby ©
Night time has fallen,
Darkness is all around.
You can hear the lonesome whistle,
From the train as it leaves town.
Looking upwards to the heavens,
Not a star dots the sky.
The moon hide his face,
As if he was shy.
Cold north wind start to blow,
Bringing a chill to my skin.
As I wonder about the train,
Where it's going, where it has been.
Does it carry a beloved,
Family or friend.
Maybe a romance,
That has came to an end.
Raindrops are falling,
But for a moment I hesitate.
I ponder about the people,
Their lives, their fate.
The clouds open up,
Rain showers down.
Why concern for these people,
I depart with a frown.
