  • Hi, This is the Webmaster of this Britney Spears site. I would just like to say, I am starting this site up once again. We are looking for some help, and if you are interested please fill out the form Here. Thank You.

  • Britney Spears will be a guest voice on "The Simpsons" Sunday, January 23. How do I know this? Because i saw tonight's episode and they showed previews for next week's show and sure enough, Britney will be included. Tune in at 8:00pm EST on FOX.

  • Britney tells LAUNCH that, aside from the nominations, she's happy just being able to pursue a career path that she loves. "My job is amazing. I shouldn't complain at all. I mean, I have so much fun with what I do. The best things about it are just being able to really do what you love to do, and that's to perform and to sing... and this is my job! I can't believe it. Do you know what I mean? It's just really amazing!"

  • Britney has moved up from number 10 to number 8 on the Swedish Album Chart. What does this mean to everyone living in the United States, or Canada for that matter? Well.. not much. But this could be a prelude to what Britney's album will do on the Billboard chart this coming week. As you know, she has been struggling recently.

  • In the new issue of TV Guide, which just arrived today, to subscribers at least, there is a little bit on the recent Billboard Music Awards. Britney and Christina are in there as the magazine mentions what they wore, among other things. There are two pictures of Christina, also, so pick this one up if you have $1.79 to spare.

  • This week, Britney jumped from number 9 up to number four on the Dutch Top 40. Soon after, the host asked "Who do you think will be number one next week?" more or less referring to Britney. So basically, expect to see Brit's "Born to Make You Happy" topping the charts next week over in Dutchville.

  • The teen pop mania continues - representing a whole new generation of music consumers. It's good news for a concert business that was starting to get larded up with '70s and early '80s acts with no fresh blood in sight. The teen market will continue to dominate in '00. Britney Spears is due for a return.

  • Spears recently wrapped up a recording session in Sweden that netted six new songs, and after doing a round of interviews reacting to her two Grammy nominations — Best New Artist and Best Pop Performance by a Female — she's slated to head to Orlando for more recording. The as-yet-untitled album is expected to be released during the fourth quarter.
"I know this next album is going to be totally different," Spears says, "Especially the material I did in Sweden. It's really funky and edgy, and it's more mature because I've grown as a person, too, and as an artist."

  • According to the new issue of People magazine, Britney will be performing a medley of her first three singles; "Baby One More Time", "Sometimes", and "Crazy", at the American Music Awards, which she has recently been preparing for in Orlando as well as LA.

  • R&B remains the strongest genre, with 175.3 million albums sold, up 9% from 1998. Alternative rock is second, with 120.9 million units, followed by rap, country and gospel/Christian. Soundtracks, sixth in the genre breakdown (which does not break out pop or non-alternative rock), dropped to 41.6 million from 61.4 million. Eighth-place Latin music sold 22.2 million units, up from 15.6 million in 1998, a 43% leap.. But since Latin can be pop, maybe it doesn't have its own category. Nonetheless, read the full article here for more on Britney, Backstreet and others.

  • 'Born To Make You Happy' will be released on the 17th of January in the United Kingdom. When this will be released, if ever, in the United States is currently unknown, however, I do think that there is a slim chance that it may be out some time in the future.

  • Britney's next single will be "Born to Make You Happy." What this means is that the Brit "Making the Video" will be for this song, even though it was already made a long time ago and released overseas. What this also means, is that Britney will have 5 singles on one album, but if anyone can pull it off its her.

  • Perpetuating the dismal ideal that the all-American girl should dress like a trashy cheerleader and talk like Barbie, this blond bimbotron is a monument to all things tasteless. This girl is only 17 and sells albums by the millions. Britney Spears gets the "What are you thinking?" award.

  • HERE is a new track listing of Britney's new upcoming album "Sunflower". This time the tracks are in a chronological order and there are modifications from that last list popcentric posted. Check it out if you'd like to know. I think it is reasonably accurate.

  • Rolling Stone Magazine announced the results of the Rolling Stone Reader's Poll. The Backstreet Boys won Artists Of The Year, Band Of The Year, Album Of The Year, Single Of The Year, Best Video, Best Dressed, Best Fan Site, Best Tour and Biggest Hype.

  • Britney cameos in the movie "Jack of All Trades" released sometime in 2000. I think Justin Timberlake from 'N Sync may also be making an appearance, though I need somebody to confirm this. Brit will play a flight attendant and will only be seen for a short bit of time, but you'll still want to check it out. Keep your eyes open for this one!

  • Britney has signed a development deal for her own television show. With her music career booming, it is not known if anything will ever come of this, though it is expected (by myself at least) that something eventually will. At the earliest, expect more word on this to occur someime after Britney's next tour, probably around 2002 or so.
