Hosted by Laura and Dan Lasley, this will be a weekend-long session of musical reminiscence. Musicians from as far away as Chicago and England have been invited. If you remember playing with Fat Lewy, Balance of Power, White Ash, Pros&Cons, or any other incarnation including David Hodge, you'll enjoy this opportunity to see old friends, meet new friends, and play some great music. We'll be jamming in Toquet Hall, Westport's Teen Center, with two practice sessions and one "live gig" in front of an audience. Families and friends are welcome, but read the fine print. We hope you all can make it.

The Schedule

Friday 6-10pm Toquet Hall: Open Jam. Gather to reintroduce ourselves and re-learn some favorite songs. Drop by even if you can't make it Saturday.

Saturday 1-5pm Toquet Hall: Rehearsal. Run through 30-40 songs. Rough out intros, solos, and outros. Note: in fairness to all, please attend at least half of this session if you plan to play Saturday night. Dinner out follows.

Saturday 7-11pm Toquet Hall: Live Jam. Play your heart out! And if we goof up, we'll do it again! It's always more fun to play for an audience, especially with none of the pressure you get from paying drinking patrons. We have set aside a couple of songs for "open jamming", so if you can't make the rehearsals, but are inspired to jump up on stage, let us know and we'll try to fit you in. Load-out will be followed by the traditional Huevos Rancheros at a local diner.

Sunday 11am-1pm - Brunch at the Lasley's. Cold pastries and hot coffee. Gather for this quiet start to the day.

Sunday 1-4pm Peter's House: Acoustic Sing-Along. No amps, but lots of singing and picking and other fun. OK maybe we'll bring an amp for the bass players, and maybe one for the leads, but everything else will be acoustic. Sandwiches and muchies will be provided. Come and sing with us, even if you didn't make it to any of the earlier sessions.

The Fine Print

Toquet Hall: This is a town-run Teen Center. It will be closed for our private use from Friday at 5pm to Saturday at 5pm. In return for providing the entertainment Saturday night, Toquet Hall has reduced their normal rental charge from $750 to $300. There is no smoking or drinking allowed inside the building.

Equipment: A full PA with monitors will be provided. Guitarists should bring their guitars, stands, effects, and an amp. Bring your acoustic for Sunday. We could use a few extra microphones and stands as well. A "standard" 3-tom drum kit will be present. Drummers should bring sticks, and a favorite throne or snare if desired. Drummers will be responsible for damage incurred while playing. An 88-key fully-weighted electronic piano will be there along with an amp; one synthesizer may be available.

Costs: Musicians are asked to contribute $10 for Friday night, and $20 total for the two Saturday sessions. Guests do not have to pay for the playing time at Toquet. Meals out will be settled at the restaurant. Sunday's food will cost $5 per person.

Family and Friends: Family and friends are welcome. Young children should be supervised by someone who is not playing. We can provide some baby-sitters, but let us know in advance. Remember that some of these nights are going to run late.

Accommodations: Westport is near Norwalk, Fairfield, and Stamford CT. Unfortunately, there are not a lot of cheap chain motels. Most hotels should charge $80-120 per night. The Lasley B&B is booked already.

Other Musicians: Please do not invite other musicians yourself. If you can think of someone who would enjoy this event, please email us with name, instrument, and relationship to you. We will email an invitation directly. We only do this for sanity.
