UNEXPLAINED ENCOUNTERS FROM VISITORS

Many of us have read about the truly unexplained, but how many of us have experienced it for ourselves? What if you had the opportunity to share your experience with other people, from across the Internet? Here, on Kryptid's Keep, you can. Gather together the facts of your encounter and send them to me, and you may very well see it listed on this page in the future. However, there are several things that you must take note of if you do decide to send your reports of the strange to me:

  • Check your legibility: Make sure that I can actually understand what you've typed. If the grammar and spelling errors are so numberous that I can't tell what you're trying to say, then your story simply will not be posted. For the stories that I do post, I will try to eliminate the grammar and spelling errors.

  • Don't be offensive: When it comes to your use of language, be child-friendly. I don't want to read foul language in any of your reports. If I decide to post your story, despite the language, it will be censored. You'll have better chances of getting your story listed if its content is clean.

  • Be concise: I don't need you to write an essay about what you've seen. Give me the essential facts, but don't ramble. Your report should be between 1 and 6 paragraphs (5 and 30 sentences) long. I'd prefer to have all of the reports of similar size to one another, for uniformity's sake. The following information is considered to be the most important: a physical and behavioral description of the creature/entity/object that was encountered, and the location and time of the encounter. Anything else is optional. You may also submit a sketch of what you saw.

  • Only certain things should be reported: I'd much prefer it if you only report things that fall into one of the following categories: cryptozoology, paranormal/supernatural, UFO sightings, and alien encounters. I don't want any reports that deal with, say, strange coincidences, for instance.

If you'd like to see your encounter with the unexplained, send it to JBMBLB@direcway.com. Although I would prefer it if you also gave me your name to go with the report, I will accept it without a name, and simply put "Anonymous" by your report.

The reports approved thus far are shown below.

Okay, when I was in grade 6, I was on a school field trip to Gross Morne, about 4 hrs from where I live. We were there for a week, so one day I went and looked around and such and I saw a cool looking moth (cool from a distance, that is). I slowly went up to it and got a good eye of what it looked like. It was probably around 5 cm in height and around 12 cm wide, including its wings. Odd thing, it had 3 sets of wings. One set on its back, one set in the middle of its back, and one set near its butt.

It also had big pitch black eyes and it was of a brownish-orangish color. Its wings, however, had freakish designs, kind of like a zebra's design but it was light orange and tannish. It had 3 antennae on its head. 2 on the sides of its head, and one in the middle. They were kind of big for a moth, probably like 2 cm in height, pretty much thin in the width. It seemed to have a weird, stinger-type thing on its butt too. I don't know if it was a stinger, but it looked fairly sharp, kind of like...a hornet's stinger I guess. It was very creepy at the time! I still dont know what it is...

One day, I was walking into the forest with my 3 friends. I came across a creek. It was duskish and pretty dark. By the time I got deep enough it was dark. As I came up to this bent tree I looked at this huge ape-like creature that had a foul smell. It had weird eyes and dark fur, and I started running. I also saw what looked like bent trees earlier.

At about 8:30 PM, on August 29, 2006, my family and I were returning from a trip up town. As we pulled up to the garage, I noticed a peculiar "star" in the sky. It was slightly brighter than the surrounding stars, and also "twinkled" more vigorously than them. It glowed a prominent reddish-white color, stronger than perhaps that of any other star I had seen.

While initially appearing to be an unusual star, I noticed that its brightness drastically faded at one point, only to re-intensify its luminosity a few moments later. Intrigued, I pointed it out to my brother and mother, who were also present outside. As we watched it, it suddenly disappeared. That's it. It disappeared.

That was pretty much proof that the object wasn't a star (unless, somehow, it was a star burning itself out?). It appeared stationary, and its lighting characteristics were incompatible with that of any aircraft I know of. This is perhaps the third or fourth UFO sighting that I've had (as with this one, all of the previous ones were simply lights in the sky).
