July 7th 1990 at The Great American Bash Sting faced Ric Flair for the world title.Sting had just recently came back from a knee injury and was feeling fired up.That night Sting won the WCW heavyweight championship of the world. This match made him a star,since he won the championship he was the center of attention.His shirts and other merchandise sold out very quickly.
Sting vs. Lex Luger
Battle Bowl 1991 there was a big tag team tournament wich in the end left two competitors,and those two people happened to be Sting and Lex Luger. Luger dominated most of the match until the end when Sting got a second win and threw Luger over the ropes to win the Battle Bowl and the World Championship.
Sting vs. Lex Luger
February 29th 1992 Sting and Luger went at it again at SuperBrawl 2 for the world title.Sting was the victor.
Sting vs. Jake the Snake Roberts
At Halloween Havoc of 1992 Sting and Jake the Snake had a "spin the wheel make a deal" match.Jake brought out his snake to get Sting but instead his snake bit him.After that WCW banned all animals from the ring.
Sting vs. Ric Flair
June 1994 at Clash of the Champions Sting took on Ric Flair.Ric Flair cheated to win the match so Sting lost.
Sting+Macho Man+Luger vs. Hall+Nash+Hogan
Bash at the Beach would be the turning point of Stings Career.In this six man tag Hogan was the mystery partner of the team of Hall and Nash.That night the NWO was formed.
This match is probably the most recognized match of all time.Placed at Starrcade 1997, Sting would have his first match in over a year. The fude between Sting and Hogan had been going on for over a year . Sting would drop down from the rafters and attack the NWO often. This match was truly a legendary match. When Sting won this match all of the WCW wrestlers came in the ring and put Sting up on there shoulders.The image of Sting being held above all of WCW, holding the World Title is one image I will never forget.
Sting vs. Hogan
This match will define the true champion since the match at Starrdade was confusing to the WCW officials.Of course Sting was victorious.
Sting vs. Godlberg
On Nitro of September 14th Sting got a match with Goldberg. At that time Goldbergs record was perfect,the only thing to stop it was Sting.That night Sting got Goldberg in the scorpion death lock in the middle of the ring, Sting was sure to win until Hogan came in and kickedSting in the head, wich lost him the match.
Sting vs. DDP
On April 26th 1999 Sting won a match for the world title against DDP on Nitro.
September 12th at Fall Brawl, Sting would face Hogan. At this time they were friends, they showed this by a handshake before the match started. Later in the match when Sting was down DDP ran in and delivered a diamond cutter to Hogan. Then Bret Hart came in and took out DDP. After that Sid Vicious came in to stir it up some more but arrived only to get hit by the Hogan boot. Lex Luger came in with the bat, and he also got hit by the big boot. Sting picked up the bat , and nailed Hogan with it, then he locked the scorpion death lock on. Charles Robinson ran in and declared Sting the winner. Sting was the champion once again.
This match was the main event on Nitro. Sting and Luger were now turned heel , and you knew that something big was going t go down there that night. Sting and Luger worked on Hogans knee most of the match. In the end Bret Hart got Sting into the sharpshooter and Luger came into the ring with the bat and hammered Hart in the face wich made him release the sharpshooter. Sting scored the win.
October 15th on Nitro the main event was set for Sting & Luger to take on Hogan & Flair. During the match DDP came in only to get torture racked by Luger (who thought it was Flair). In the ring Hogan delivered the Leg Drop to Sting to get the win.
October 24th at Halloween Havoc Sting was to face Hogan for the world title. When Hogans music played he did not come out. After Sting came out Hogans music played again only for him to come out in street clothes instead of wrestling gear. Hogan whispered something to Sting and layed down to let Sting pin him. After that match , Sting came out for the second time and challenged anyone for a non title match. Who entered but Goldberg. They fought a good match until Sting delivered a scorpion death drop to the referee. When the referee got up he awarded Goldberg the belt. Goldberg didn't keep it for long though, because the next night on nitro the title was held up. Now there will be a tournament to determine who the Champion will be.
