"This is Steve Sledge and it's early on a Sunday morning here in Dallas. I'm looking out on the back yard - the trees are filled with birds - and it's a beautiful day here in Dallas. I've been listening to people leaving their messages - who come from a six digit background traditionally - and I think that maybe now's a good a time as ever to leave this message for you.

"In a couple of days my family and I are getting ready to take a two week trip to Colorado. And I'm thinking back over years in the past, that when I would plan a trip like this, no way could I afford two weeks. Either the money wasn't there or I could not afford to be away from my business that long, because I would come back to a mess and I would lose so much money being gone, that it just didn't warrant itself. But it's totally different now and I'd like everybody to know why.

"There were times early on in my traditional business in the real estate, insurance business, that times were good. I was in a good market, in a good location and we had plenty and we could not be more blessed. But like anything that's tied to a cyclical industry, and dealing with factors beyond your control, as the interest rates began to change the law of supply and demand began to work - not in our favor. There were times it was difficult to meet the payroll and it was difficult to have anything left over once the payroll was met - you know... empty houses and things of that nature, things I know you can relate to.

"When I was introduced to this business in 1989 I didn't have any time for the business - I didn't have any time for my family. I got up and walked out of the presentation. I wasn't interested in something like this; professional people don't do something like this, people with some level of intelligence don't do something like this.

"But when I met Mark Yarnell, Martha Lowry, Richard Kall, and so many other leaders in this company by telephone, I was absolutely taken back with the level of integrity that came across over the telephone, the way these people lived their lives and what they stood for. And when they began to explain to me who this company really was and where it's going as a company and what it stands for, the integrity of their products, the lucrative nature of the compensation structure, and what it really meant on a daily basis to get up and live a life of freedom, both financially and time, all my buttons were pushed.

"I was stricken with what could possibly happen. All the dreams that Carol and I had to unfortunately put on the back burner, because they apparently weren't going to come true given the nature of my business - we began to resurrect those dreams and dust them off and decided that maybe, just maybe, this could be it.

"We hit this business with a vengeance. We didn't have a lot of time and sure didn't have very much knowledge, and a lot of people laughed at us. A lot of our friends thought we'd lost our mind and frankly, they kind of distanced themselves from us, because they could not understand this new way of thinking. What they couldn't understand was someone taking charge of their life.

"Within ten months we had created a 6 digit annual income. It was over a hundred thousand dollars. It was fully leveraged, residual in nature, that came in whether I worked that day or that month or that week or not. And shortly after that, of course, it became our full time business. We have been blessed with the caliber of people that have joined our business that has allowed us to build a business all across the United States now and in several foreign markets. And the future looks so bright.

"And, you know, to be able to take this trip in 24 hours and to not worry about what things cost, and to be able to stay in the hotel that we want to stay in, and play the golf course we want to play, and if Carol wants to buy something we just buy it. And then to realize that I don't have to worry, not one minute, about my business back home or whether or not I'm going to have a business when I come back, or what my competitors are doing, to be where I can't be fired, and literally, to come back to an increase in salary for being gone for two weeks. It wouldn't matter if we were gone three weeks or four weeks, the same thing would be true.

"And I owe an awful lot to this opportunity, and I owe an awful lot to the company, and I owe an awful lot to yourself and so many people I named earlier, for teaching and guiding me and for simply holding the leadership together until we could get there and join you.

"And I just want to tell anybody listening today, that if it's the wrong time in your life, nothing I'm going to say is going to make any difference. But if I've pushed any buttons in anybody about what they could have in life if they just have the courage to open their mind, put their ego on the shelf for a minute and put their pride away and just go for it, this has got to be the greatest opportunity of this century, and I just thank God for it everyday.
