SLFD members operate at the scene of a motor vehicle accident involving a northbound CSX freight train and an abandoned passenger vehicle at the New Hope crossing north of Coward.

A CSX Transportation GM-EMD SD-40 locomotive straddles a ditch with its front trucks midway across Acline Street and its rear trucks on the rail bed. It derailed after striking a lowboy trailer carrying a steam roller that became stuck at the Main Street Crossing in Lake City. The SD-40 derailed at the Dansing Street crossing and laid on its side before righting itself.

This car carrier was involved in a multi-vehicle accident in extremely dense fog. Also involved were a four-door passenger car and a loaded concrete mixer.

Lieutenant Rollins Rhodes has fun while operating on one of the South Carolina Forestry Commission's brush breakers during a mutual aid forest fire operation at the "Legends Fire" in Horry County outside of Conway.

Tanker 362 rolls in with a load of water to support the suppression operations at a large fire near Olanta. The SLFD, as well as units from the Clarendon and Sumter County FD's, assisted Olanta and the South Carolina Forestry Commission contain the blaze.
