Kai
Kai is a thin, almost malnourished looking human boy of about twelve years of age. He has blond hair and blue eyes so intense, it is almost possible to get lost in their depths. He arrived in this world sick, bleeding, and badly abused through a mysterious portal. When he speaks, Kai's voice is quiet, as if it is not used to talking. Kai is not stupid, he just hasn't had much oppourtunity to speak before his escape. He has a distinct mistrust if not outright fear of adults, and is very uneasy around large animals, particularily anything that could be considered predatory. Indeed this poor child was so traumatized by his past, he is nervous most of the time, until his friend tells him it's ok.
Kai's best, if only, friend in the entire world is a young lad by the name of Toki, who seems to have taken it upon himself to care for Kai. Kai does not remember much about where he came from, except that he does not want to go back. When under extreme duress, Kai has shown evidence of very potent psychokinetic abilities, though he has not yet managed to develop control of this power. The lab from which he managed to escape has sent out a number of teams to retrieve their prized experiment.
