My observations on
the Weave encompassing the Panvira area:
Many wild
theories and rumours abound where Panvira in concerned.
Unfortunately, very few, if any, of
these can ever be confirmed. Due both
to the ruined state of the city and
its surroundings and the fact that the Builders,
have left us no assistance in
deciphering their language.
One thing I can
confirm, however, is perhaps the most interesting feature
of the Panvira area. The
boundaries between worlds are unusually weak here.
They are in a constant state of
flux. They shift locations, opening and closing,
growing stronger and weaker.
In my careful observations of this curious
occurance, this shifting occurs not
at random, as some would have you belive,
but in a pattern on some
incomprehensible scale.
If you are
patient, sitting near the Panvian ruins, you can actually catch a
glimpse of these other
realms. I strongly suspect that travelling to another
world is as simple as standing up
and taking a few steps. I am, however,
leery to do so, as I fear the
return trip may prove to be a far more
formidable task.
On my last
journey to the city, I made an interesting discovery. Or,
more accurately, I had a revelation
as to the nature of the pattern of
shifting worlds. Imagine, if
you will, that all the other worlds form a
great, shifting body of
water. Like a lake... or an ocean. But there,
in the distance.... there is
something. It is like an island, but we cannot
reach it. The current of the
shifting worlds is far to strong for us to
traverse. It is my belief
(and my belief alone, with no proof) that
the island in the ocean of worlds
is where the Builders have gone.
But this old man feels that is a
mystery for the next generation is
investigate.
