Revival of the Slalomskateboards
| Similar
to the fashion revival of the 70's look, the means of
transportation, slalom skateboarding are all the rave
now. In the late 60's, Slalom skateboarding was created as one of the earlier methods of skateboarding and experienced it's prime before the end of the 70's. The competitions were broadcast on TV and there were even some professionals who earned their living skating. In Switzerland right now, there is a real boom in the Slalom skateboards experience. Countless Slalom skateboarders are seen curving through our streets. Clients, both young and young hearted, prefer and love our special skateboards. Slalom skateboarding is the fastest and most agile means of transportation.
These boards, which can be as long as a man, were created as an alternative to surfing in the hills of California during the 60's. With their length you are able to experience the greatest asphalt surf ever. This board, with its extremely wide trucks, allow high speeds without the usual shaking. This board corners slower, therefore allowing maximal control during the corners. For anyone who enjoys the feel of riding on asphalt and who misses the feeling of boarding during the summer, this board will be more than just a bridge over the summer-gap, you will love it forever!
The unusual thing about these boards is that they are made by small Swiss manufacturer. There have always been some small Swiss firms which have supplied the market. Hooger Booger, for example, has been one of the first established themselves in the skateboard market, have now withdrawn from it to pursue the snowboard market. Some well known Zurich producers have now taken over their part of the market. Even though they produce only small quantities, the skateboards have a high standard of quality. Custom boards are also available. |
