Lightening crashed and the thunder boomed. Rain slashed at the windows of the old house. Inside the house seventeen year old Samantha Robertson sat in a chair. Darkness was all around her and the only the thing that kept it at bay was the fire flickering in the fireplace.
The fire flickered and then went out. Samantha got up and started toward the fireplace. She bent over and peered into the fireplace but could not detect any problem.
Samantha suddenly felt horribly exposed. Her shoulder blades itched and she sensed that she was not alone.
"Do not be afraid," a voice said. "I will not harm you."
Samantha turned slowly around.
Behind her was a man. The most beautiful man she had ever seen. He was tall and slender. His black hair was curly and shoulder length and he had the most beautiful blue eyes. His voice was deep and melodious.
"Do not be afraid," he said again in that beautiful voice.
Samantha walked slowly towards him. He held out a hand and she took it. He pulled her towards her and then took her in his arms. From a distance she heard music playing, a soft melody that sank into her bones and made her head spin.
They danced around the room and Samantha lost herself in his mesmerizing blue eyes. As the storm continued outside, the boy bent his head over Samantha's throat and kissed her there. His teeth glittered in the darkness. They buried into the soft skin of her neck. Samantha's head dipped back and her eyes closed in ecstasy.
She felt herself being lowered to the couch and the stranger moved away from her. Samantha whimpered and reached her arms up, but the stranger was no longer there.
Samantha woke to the soft sound of birds singing outside. She lay there smiling to herself, remembered the dream she had. Samantha stood up and stretched. She walked towards the mirror that was hanging on the wall in the hallway. Samantha gazed at her reflection as she fingercombed her long red hair. Her fingers stilled as a strangled gasp escaped her throat. On her neck right where the stranger had kissed her were two tiny holes.
