POLGARA: Race unknown. Known in prophecy as the Protector. Only female disciple of Aldur. Daughter of Belgarath and Poledra. Over 3000 years old. Duchess of Erat. Guarded line of the Rivan King. Wife of Durnik. Recently had twins. Other form is the snowy owl.
BELMAKOR: Melcene. Disciple of Aldur. Instrumental in the War of the Gods. Became melancholy and willed himself from existence. Possibly due to Zedar.
BELSAMBAR: Angarak. Disciple of Aldur. Inventor with Beldin of catapult. Saved hundreds of lives during the War of the Gods. Blamed himself for driving Torak to crack the world. Willed himself from existence.
BELTIRA and BELKIRA: Alorns. Disciples of Aldur. Twins with minds so closely linked they finish each others thoughts and sentences. Have researched the prophecies and told the others what needed to be done.
BELGARION: Rivan. Child of Light. Godslayer. King of Riva. Overlord of the West. Lord of the Western Sea. Keeper and Guardian of the Orb. Disciple of Aldur (or possibly Eriond?). Raised in Sendaria by Polgara. Husband of Ce'Nedra, father of Geran and Beldaran. Other form is a wolf.
DURNIK (BELDURNIK?): Sendar. Known in prophecy as the Man With Two Lives. Blacksmith. Killed by Zedar at Cthol Mishrak. Resurrected as an immortal sorcerer by Belgarion and the gods. Husband of Polgara. Newest disciple of Aldur.
POLEDRA: Race unknown. Known in prophecy as the Woman Who Watches. Created by the gods to be Belgarath's wife. His one true love. First met him as a wolf. Mother of Beldaran and Polgara. Thought to have died giving birth to her daughters but still alive.
CE'NEDRA (X'NEDRA?): Tolnedran and Dryad. Known in prophecy as the Queen of the World. Princess of Tolnedra and Queen of Riva. Wife of Belgarion, mother of Geran and Beldaran. Will probably live for a few centuries because of her Dryad heritage.
BARAK: Cherek. Known in prophecy as the Dreadful Bear. Earl of Trellheim. Hereditary protector of the heir to the Rivan throne. Berserker. Captain of the greatest Cherek warship ever made, the Seabird, which he had specifically built.
KHELDAR (SILK): Drasnian. Known in prophecy as the Guide. Prince of Drasnia. Merchant. Spy. Can ferret out any kind of information. A consumate actor with several alter egos he can use at will.
HETTAR: Algar. Known in prophecy as the Horse-Lord. Prince of Algaria. Adopted son of King Cho-Hag. A Sha-Dar. Can communicate with horses and understand their language. Passionately hates Murgos, who killed his real parents.
MANDORALLEN: Mimbrate Arend. Known in prophecy as the Knight Protector. Baron of Vo Mandor. Greatest knight alive. Personal champion of Ce'Nedra. Almost totally fearless.
LELLDORIN: Asturian Arend. Known in prophecy as the Bowman. Greatest archer in Arendia. Close friend of Belgarion.
RELG: Ulgo. Known in prophecy as the Blind Man. Diviner. Former zealot. Was obsessed with sin and purity. Mellowed out since marriage. Destined to be the father of the new Gorim. Husband of Taiba. Living with her in Maragor where they will repopulate the country. (With divine intervention from Mara.)
TAIBA: Marag. Known in prophecy as the Mother of the Race That Died. Was a slave in Rak Goska until liberated by Belgarath and the others, especially Relg. Wife of Relg. Destined to repopulate Maragor with him. Under care and personal protection of Mara.
SADI: Nyissan. Known in prophecy as the Man Who Is No Man. Eunuch. Chief Eunuch of the Palace of Salmissra. Expert in drugs and poisons. Has a pet snake Zith, extremely poisonous.
LISELLE (VELVET): Drasnian. Known in prophecy as the Huntress. A margravine (noble rank). Killed Harakan. In love with and engaged to Kheldar. Served as Drasnian Intelligence's top spy Hunter.
ZAKATH: Angarak. Known in prophecy as the Empty Man. Emporer of Mallorea. His first love was killed because of Taur Urgas. Just know recovering from that due to his friendship with Belgarion and his love for Cyradis.
TOTH: Dal. Known in prophecy as the Silent Man. Aide and guide to Cyradis. Accompanied Belgarion to ensure everything was done according to the prophecies. Killed by the Demon Lord Mordja at the Place Which Is No More. It was turned into a tomb for him by Beldin, Belgarion, Durnik, and Eriond.
CYRADIS: Dal. Seeress of Kell. Destined to make the final choice between light and dark. Chose light, ensuring Eriond would take his rightful place as a god. Now with Zakath in Mal Zeth.
BRAND: Rivan. The Rivan Warder. Acted as regent for Riva until the return of the Rivan King. All Warders were known as Brand, after the one who bested Torak at Vo Mimbre. Murdered by those attempting to kill Ce'Nedra and Geran.
ANHEG: Cherek. King of Cherek. Descended from the line of Cherek Bear-Shoulders. Cousin of Barak. Posesses the largest and most complete library in the West.
CHO-HAG: Algar. Chief of the Clan Chiefs (King) of Algaria. Adoptive father of Hettar. Lame in the legs. Makes no difference when he is on horseback. Finest saber fighter alive. Killed Taur Urgas at Thull Mardu.
RHODAR: Drasnian. King of Drasnia. Husband of Porenn, father of Kheva. Master strategist of Battle of Thull Mardu. Physically very overweight but intellectually very sharp. Died many years later from poor health and old age.
FULRACH: Sendar. King of Sendaria. Self-effacing. Modest. Humblest of the Western monarchs.
KORODULLIN and MAYASERANNA: Arends. King and Queen of Arendia. Co-rulers. Names are hereditary from Duke of Mimbre and Duchess of Asturia. Also descended from that line. Line has become inbred so they have very poor health.
SALMISSRA: Nyissan. Queen of Nyissa. Chosen because of her resemblance to original Salmissra, high priestess of Issa. Also named for her. Each Nyissan Queen was chosen this way. Turned into a giant immortal and venomous snake by Polgara.
DROSTA LEK THUN: Nadrak. King of Gar Og Nadrak. Switched sides to join West at Battle of Thull Mardu. Not really to be trusted.
TAUR URGAS: Murgo. King of Cthol Murgos. Madman. Caused Zakath's first love to be killed. Killed by Cho-Hag at Thull Mardu. Died gibbering and totally insane but knowing he had been beaten.
URGIT: Murgo and Drasnian. King of Cthol Murgos. Followed Taur urgas to the throne. Secretly not his son. Son of one of Taur Urgas's wives and Kheldar's father.
GERAN: Rivan and Tolnedran. Prince of Riva. Son of Belgarion and Ce'Nedra. Kidnapped by Zandramas as an infant. Was briefly Child of Dark. Named for Belgarion's father who was killed by Chamdar.
BELDARAN: Rivan and Dryad. Princess of Riva. Daughter of Belgarion and Ce'Nedra. Named for Polgara's twin sister Beldaran, wife of Riva Iron-Grip and first Queen of Riva.
UNRAK: Cherek. Son of Barak. Protector of Geran. Posesses his father's ability to assume the form of the bear.
KHEVA: Drasnian. King of Drasnia. Son of Rhodar and Porenn. Ascended to the throne following his father's death. Porenn acted as his regent until he came of age.
ZEDAR: Race unknown. Formerly disciple of Aldur. Became an apostate and disciple of Torak. Used Eriond to steal the Orb. Killed Durnik in Cthol Mishrak. Sealed up alive in solid rock at the earth's core by Belgarath. He will remain alive there, unable to escape until the end of days.
CTUCHIK: Angarak. Disciple of Torak. Operated out of mountaintop fortress-city of Rak Goska. Took Eriond and the Orb from Zedar. Engaged in a duel of sorcery with Belgarath. Killed when he tried to destroy the Orb.
URVON: Angarak. Disciple of Torak. Terribly afraid of Beldin. Went mad after Torak's death. Fancied himself the new God of Angarak. Dragged down into Hell by Demon Lord Nahaz.
CHAMDAR: Angarak. Grolim. Murdered Geran and Ildera, Belgarion's parents. Tried to take control of Belgarion's mind. Burned to death by Belgarion in his first open act of sorcery.
HARAKAN: Angarak. Grolim. Chandim. Formerly one of the Hounds of Torak. Returned to human form by Urvon, whom he served. Tried to have Ce'Nedra and Geran killed but failed. Killed by Liselle at Ashaba.
ZANDRAMAS: Darshivan. Grolim. Child of Dark. Kidnapped infant Geran from the Rivan Citadel. Sent along with the Sardion to replace the galaxy destroyed in the accident which divided the purpose and awareness of the universe.
