NEWSFLASH: 32 new plants in the garden!.

As I've always wanted... I've built my own house. Well... not by hand, I used the... hmmm... reasonably skilled hands of LB Hus.

The house is a 1 1/2 floor house with, according to Scanian traditions, a steeply angled roof (50 degrees slope). The total size is 139 square metres (approx 1500 sq.feet) and situated in my home village.

It's quite an investment, but even though it will put me in debt to the bank - this is something I've always dreamed of. The village is also becoming a more and more attractive area with a brand new school and a train station. Some rumours about a golfcourse, but I guess local politicians will block this attempt to, as is becoming the rule...

Contract signing: January 22nd.
Buildstart papers signed: April 13th.
Money paid thus far: 390,000 SEK (approx. $49,000), loan: 1,050,000 SEK ($132,000)
Status of building: Completed.
Roof erections: June 22nd, September 3rd.
Ready: October 27th 1999.

The area of houses consists of three small, interconnected squares and the square and the road to it will be owned collectively making it as private as we decide to. The name of this area is "Lady's Mantle", after one of the Alchemists' favourite 'magical' herbs...
The postal address is "Red leaf rose yard" (but in Swedish, of course!).
